Dear PowerCon 2012 Attendees:
The Technical Committee of PowerCon 2012 along with internationally recognized judges have decided on the 2 Best Student Papers of PowerCon 2012. This was based on the quality of the paper, the presentation itself during one of the parallel technical sessions, Q&A and technical depth.
First Prize:
Frequency Stability for Distributed Generation Connected through Grid-Tie Inverter

Second Prize:

Dear Delegates:
For those of who have arrived a warm welcome to Auckland. Registration will begin in less than 24 hours time.
There have been few last minute changes to the Chairing of sessions and rescheduling of timings to account for flight arrivals and departures.

The handbook along with this changes will need to be checked for the exact schedule during the next 4 days,
This will be last update with regards to program.
We will be updating at regular intervals with pictures and happenings at the conference.
The tutorial session will begin in another 9 hours time.

We have received a number of requests from attendees to extend the deadline for registrations due to issues with their payment.
Hence we’ve decided to extend the deadline for Student/GOLD/WIE program registrations to Saturday, 20th October 2012. This revised deadline also applies to the due date for abstract submission for the Student/GOLD/WIE Delegates Forum session.
We still have registration and accommodation subsidies available for Student and young engineer attendees interested in the Student/ GOLD/WIE program. Please inquire with the committee if financial support is required.

For all those papers that has been slotted by the Technical Committee for the poster session, preparation for available poster boards can be viewed from

Poster session is scheduled for October 31 starting at 6pm. Authors will be able to arrange the posters from 5pm that evening.
More featured speakers have been added. Please also note that Arc-flash tutorial is available for booking.
The half-day tutorial on “Transmission Technology Options for Smart Grid” has been cancelled.
Previously registered delegates for this tutorial can choose to shift their registration for the 1/2 day Arc-flash tutorial.
The PCO, Wilna will be able to help you out with this change.
The organising committee is gearing up towards the final preparations of the Conference arrangement. We look forward to welcoming you.
